The project “LIFE CONTRA Ailanthus” aims to establish control over the invasive species Ailanthus in areas of Croatia’s Natura 2000 Ecological Network.
Project aim: to prevent the spread of Ailanthus as a highly invasive species throughout Europe, adopt the most effective methods for its removal, and to develop a Protocol for Ailanthus management
Total project value: HRK 19.4 million, co-financed in the amount of 60% by the European Union, through the LIFE Programme, an instrument of the European Union intended to finance activities in the areas of environmental protection, nature and climate
Project partners: Krka National Park, Public Institute for managing protected natural areas in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and Vrtlar d.o.o. from Dubrovnik
