Traditional Bio-Olympics for nature and biodiversity conservation

Spend Nature Conservation Day in the Republic of Croatia and International Biodiversity Day in Krka NP socializing and having fun in the sports spirit

On Saturday, 22 May from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the meadow at Skradinski buk waterfall, the traditional Bio-Olympics will be held at the occasion of the International Biodiversity Day. Previous Park's Bio-Olympics were intended for children and pupils competitions from Primary Schools from Knin and Skradin, schools located at the source and the mouth of the Krka River, in which we truly enjoyed. Due to the pandemic situation, this year we had to adapt so we will celebrate it through sports games with our visitors, younger and older.

Bio-Olympics will include several thematic games: rope pull, volleyball, potato sack races and much more. The aim of the competition is to raise awareness of the need to conserve nature and biodiversity through sports and fun, and to get the play back into nature.

The United Nations have proclaimed 22 May as the International Day of Biodiversity in order to illustrate the great role of biodiversity in sustainable development wich is marked this year with a motto "We're part of the solution“.

The Republic of Croatia has joined the rest of the world in efforts to protect biodiversity and to improve Nature conservation. The Croatian Parliament also proclaimed 22 May as Nature Conservation Day in Croatia.

If you are going to be at Skradinski buk waterfall on Saturday, play with us and become part of the solution in preserving Nature and Biodiversity!
